We had an engaging #VirtualLunch discussion today, Thursday, February 20, 2025, with Julia Voss, the Director of Litigation Support and E-Discovery at UB Greensfelder. My key takeaways were:
️⃣ Litigation teams are trying to find solutions that elevate their overall practice.
️⃣ Case management tools are such a good idea, yet buy-in can be difficult to secure.
️⃣ It is time to replace outdated tools when people are not using them anymore or as effectively.
️⃣ The complexity of new legal matters is outgrowing some of the legacy tools in which law firms have invested.
️⃣ Insufficient training or inadequate fit are reasons for a lack of technology adoption.
️⃣ Newer lawyers may be a law firm’s best ambassadors for driving tech adoption.
️⃣ Case management software will become more essential and less optional.
️⃣ Highlighting the results a new application can produce is more persuasive than emphasizing its features.
️⃣ Develop a sense of curiosity because fear of change hinders progress.
Thanks to Opus 2 for supporting our series on #ExploringtheFutureofLitigation, and to attendees Joel Webber, Sherine Clarke, George Swoyer III, Joseph Scott, Monica Sandler, and Donya Gordon.
