I had very high expectations for our #specialguest on the #virtuallunch today, Monday, December 7, 2020, and Sachin Bansal exceeded them. He led a fantastic discussion about how to see the lighter side and kept us all smiling throughout our wonderful conversation. My key takeaways were: (1) Crowd work is a comedy technique that you can apply to Zoom; (2) Avoid jokes in email; (3) When presenting, pause and take a beat because a couple of seconds of silence is powerful, avoid garbage words, smile, and engage your audience by making eye contact; and, (4) “Yes, and…” is a fundamental concept of improv.
